I’ve only been to one F1 race in my life and that was Spa 2022. I sat at Pouhon (the double left hander) and it’s hard to fathom how fast they are. It’s mind blowing seeing them almost take it flat at over 170mph

As time has passed I think the TWR XJS is my favourite ever race car. Didn't appreciate how wonderful it was back in the day.

I once got a book given to me when I was 7 it was Aussie muscle cars with the xc cobra on the front cover i was mesmerizing over such a powerful gorgeous looking masterpiece of Australian craftsmanship and the sound is todays cars will never live up to such audio perfection sadly i will never be able to have my own xc i love all old school Ford power

The other thing that gives the speed of these Cars perspective is that they have the V8 Supercars as a support race. You watch them and think "that's pretty quick" they all go past and you wait about 45 seconds and the leader goes past again...the F1's you don't get much time to wait, the last car goes past and about 15 seconds later the leader goes past again. It takes about an hour to walk the track and it takes them just over a minute.

When we watch the TV telecaste we don't get to see such speed especially at the purpose built wide tracks. The cars are so slow looking. The best track where speed is seen is Saudi Arabia.

I was lucky enough to watch a few races where you had to put ear plugs to protect your ear drums.

Shame that F1TV always reduces the sound those cars. I think they aren't too bad in terms of engine sound. I know that V10 and V8s have glorious sound but V6 hybrids sound better compared to what you hear from TV
